A few breakdown of images highlighting three useful lessons I learned in a class on Art direction with Anthony Christov.
1.Symbolism, Using composition elements ( staging, value, color, perspective)to reinforce a thematic statement and fuel the subconscious and the imagination of the viewers.
2.Implied history: the notion that environments\character existed long before the viewer arrived. Elements in a composition can suggest culture, change, era etc...
3.History of accidents: the idea that places and worlds are shaped not only by intention, but also by time, decay, tragedy, use, and human presence.
I remember really liking Anthony's ideas and was excited to share them with you, hope you like them too.
